COBIT 5 Foundation & Assessor Package

The COBIT 5 Foundation & Assessor course package looks at the drivers for this latest version of COBIT and the five basic principles on which the COBIT 5 framework is founded. The course also explores the enablers required for the governance and management of enterprise IT which support the integration between the goals, objectives, controls and processes of the business and IT. The course also provides delegates with a practical skills for assessing an enterprise’s process capabilities against the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM). Evidence-based to enable a reliable, consistent and repeatable way to assess IT process capabilities, this model helps IT leaders gain C-level and board member buy-in for change and improvement initiatives.

The course also prepares attendees for the APMG COBIT 5 Foundation examination which is written on the morning of the 3rd day of the course, and the APMG COBIT 5 Assessor examination which is written on the afternoon of the last day of the course

A detailed walk-through of a best practice COBIT 5 Assessment Approach, incorporating:
  • How to perform a process capability assessment using the Assessor Guide: using COBIT 5
  • How to apply the Process Assessment Model (The PAM) in performing a process capability assessment, specifically:
    • To use the Process Reference Model, in particular to be able to use the 37 processes outlined in the PRM
    • To apply and analyze the measurement model in assessing process capability levels
    • To apply and analyze the capability dimension using generic criteria outlined in the PAM
  • How to identify and assess the roles and responsibilities in the process capability assessment process

Documentation

Delegates will be issued with course workbooks, in-course hand-outs and other relevant material.

Pre-reading

There are no specific requirements for pre-reading, although it is recommended that attendees acquire and familiarize themselves with the COBIT 5 Framework, which can be downloaded from www.isaca.com

Examination

The COBIT 5 Foundation qualification is based on a 40 minute closed-book examination of 50 multiple choice questions. Successful attendees will be awarded the APMG COBIT 5 Foundation Certificate. The qualification is a mandatory pre-requisite for further COBIT 5 Implementation and Assessor training courses.

The COBIT 5 Assessor qualification is based on a 2.5 hour open-book examination of 80 complex, scenario based multiple choice questions. Successful attendees will be awarded the APMG COBIT 5 Assessor Certificate.
